Creative Collaging to Visualize Data on Homelessness
Presenter: Priscilla Carmini (she/her) & Alexandra Wong
Drop-in anytime during this workshop to bring data to life through the creative act of paper collaging. We will be using archival materials from the York University’s Archives and Special Collections and research data to collaboratively create an infographic poster that discusses the historical and contemporary situation of homelessness in the York Region and in Ontario.
This workshop will use data physicalization, which is the act of using physical artifacts to display data, to help participants explore, understand, and communicate complex issues around homelessness.
No familiarity with the topic, data, or collaging is required. Materials and exercises to engage at your own pace will be provided.
