Let's Talk About It: A Conversation with Author Suzette Mayr
Join us for a compelling author talk with Suzette Mayr, part of the Let’s Talk About It series hosted by York University Libraries.
Mayr is an award-winning Canadian novelist and professor of creative writing at the University of Calgary. Her most recent novel, The Sleeping Car Porter, won the 2022 Scotiabank Giller Prize and has been celebrated for its vivid portrayal of a Black, queer train porter navigating race, sexuality, and class in 1920s Canada.
Through humour, history, and poetic insight, Mayr’s work explores themes of identity, belonging, and the untold stories of marginalized communities.
All students, faculty, staff, and community members are welcome.
